That's me!
Most people know me better as "Bagel". I will soon be receiving a B.F.A. in illustration at the Maryland Institute College of Art. Currently, I reside in Maryland. I don't plan on staying here all my life. I think I would more than love to travel. I'm used to moving every two years.
I was born in Virginia, but my first language is Korean. That's because I lived and went to school in Korea for a year. Apparently, I drew people really well when I was a baby, so instead of learning the alphabet, reading, and writing like the rest of the Korean kids, my mom had me take art lessons. So... I ended up being a year behind in language. In case you think my writing sucks, you now know why.

CAREER OBJECTIVE
Now, my objective for my career is to find a stable job involving character design and concept/idea sketching. Getting paid to doodle would be ideal. MICA has pushed me to search for my artistic self.
What I've learned so far is that I create artwork to move people. I prefer to move people in such a way that they giggle so hard that they cry a little. I do that by telling a story with a single image, sequential piece, or even with the facial expression of some random character I created out of whim. My most favorite thing to do is to doodle; fill a page with one-liners, characters, etc. I don't draw to wow someone with a pretty picture. I do it to make someone smile or frown or stare at me in horror, or just anything along those lines. I guess I'm trying to drill into your head that I would love to gain professional experience in either being a sketch artist or a character designer. I think art and psychology go hand in hand, especially when it comes to designing a character or the look for a story. I'm great at getting into, or should I say imagining the minds of a character or personality and pin-pointing those key characteristic details and showing it in either the facial expressions or the body language. That's another thing that's really, really important in art and animation: body language. I'm hoping that you'll be able to see all of this in my artwork.
